Study on the Residual Pattern of Terbufos and Its Metabolites in Soil Using LC-MSMS

Terbufos is a soil pesticide widely used to kill Agrotis segetum and Phyllotreta striolata. Many non-conformities occurred in agricultural products treated with terbufos, That is why study on the residual pattern of terbufos and its metabolites in soil is needed to prevent non-conformity and ensure safe production and distribution of agricultural products. In this study, we carried out that quantitative and qualitative analyzes were performed using LC-MS/MS to analyze residue pattern of terbufos and metabolites in spinach cultivation soil. We analyzed 6 component of terbufos: terbufos, terbufos oxon, terbufos oxon sulfone, terbufos oxon sulfoxide, terbufos sulfone, and terbufos sulfoxide in soil using LC-MS/MS. As a result of analyzing the soil characteristics, the organic material content was 26.75 g/kg, the cation exchange capacity was 16.97 cmolc/kg, the pH was 6.0, and the soil was loam. The soil pesticide terbufos was treated in accordance with pesticide safety standard, and spinach was sown after cultivation. The residual amount of the soil pesticide terbufos showed that the amount of the parent compound terbufos decreased over time after treatment, and the metabolite terbufos sulfoxide slightly increased 19 days after treatment. The residual amount of the parent compound of terbufos in the soil was found to be 1.788 mg/kg on the day of treatment and 0.320 mg/kg on the 56th day, the spinach harvest date. The residual amount of terbufos in the soil on the day of spinach harvest was significantly reduced by 83% compared to the day of treatment. We can get the results of residue pattern of terbufos in soil through this study. The results of this study show that they can be used to study terbufos residue in spinach.
