In this study, we developed a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) as the frontend of an application for controlling an automated sample preparation system for mass spectrometry. The device was constructed in a previous study by our group, using open-source 3D printer technology for precise coordinate control. The GUI was implemented based on Mainsail, an open-source interface originally designed for 3D printer control. The system supports device control, real-time monitoring, and task history review through an intuitive web interface, with security features to prevent unauthorized access to experimental conditions and protocols. The interface consists of five routers—logical views rendered according to URL paths—each responsible for a specific function: the Control, History, G-code, System, and Security routers. The Control router enables real-time monitoring of device status and temperature, and precise control of the pipet. The History router provides access to previous task records and allows comparison of execution times. The G-code router performs command-based control using G-code—a standard language for motion, temperature, and task sequences—and includes a terminal, file manager, and 2D path viewer. The System router manages device settings, firmware status, and sensor information. The Security router oversees user login, access control, and encrypted communication to safeguard sensitive experimental data. |
